Start of 2010 Resolutions

http://tricks-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/

This is a great blog as it gives you very EASY information on how to change up your blog.

This is something I have wanted to do for a while..change up my template to one that is definitely me. I like being able to control (oh, that's me) my destiny, okay maybe just my blog....

Now that I am on Facebook, which I am enjoying connecting with old and dear friends, I also can use this as a medium for my art, knitting and blogging.

I have alot of time but it never seems to be enough for when I want to vacuum, you now what I mean...vacuum or knit??? No contest here..knitting comes first.

I will stop for now as I want to look at the above blog for MORE info before I change it up...and must finish the throw rug that I started..

Peace to all & good health & wealth 2010,
Darla

BLIZZARD.....

Okay you guys back east I could have done without the blizzard heading my way.

So much for a sunny Christmas!!! Just kidding, I knew the sun wouldn't be here. Well
just another great reason to start a knitting project.

Gotta go as I finally am knitting something for myself for a change.

Talk at all of you later,

Friends

The photo to your left is about 1955, Norwalk Hospital photo. My Dad is the 3rd one from the left seated on the floor.

Wow..what kept me off Facebook so long. I was found quickly by a friend (a close one) from high school. Couldn't ask for a better find this time of year.

As of today many more friends from home & high school have gotten in touch via Facebook.

I thought I might get my Blog out there a little more, it is great, What a time of memories that are flooding back. It's great because they all are great ones.

I've baked a bit today but mostly rested, After the last year of knitting my hands hurts!! I now can start on ME!!!!

Have a great nite,

Packages mailed

So yesterday was "Pack up gifts" to be mailed to Kansas. It is complete and lots of knitting projects which (I hope) they will enjoy.

I volunteered on Thursday at Good Sam Nursing home and watched the fifth gragers make gingerbread houses. Wow are they creative!! I never would have thought of a swing set made
made of pretzels and gumdrops. Icing for the glue of course. The boys can be proud as they helped a few of the residents make houses of their own (actually the kids did the work).

We had one lady who would spread frosting on her graham crackers THEN eat it. Not just one but many. So it was fun.

Then Thursday eve I went to audition for our local Community Theatre Group. I made it!!!! Don't know what part as yet but it's going to be loads of fun. Oh, did I tell you it's a musical!!!!
"Nunscance"....very appropriate for a Catholic High School graduate!!! It's so funny and it will be in the beginning of March. Finally found my calling......A NUN???

I'll keep you informed.

Peace,
Darla

I guess singing & dancing and learning lines & songs will be quite the task after so many years.

Surprise Box

Oh my gosh......this was in my mail box today. To have a friend that knows me so well still after these many years. I just cannot tell you what this means.

How did Lee Mae know that those 4 different size circular Clover Takumi Bamboos' are just what I needed?

Look at the yarns!!!! I will be busy enjoying each and every one of them. And a Christmas tree pin, just for me.

I miss seeing my dear friend. We have had a long and great friendship since I was 13 yrs. old.... I still have to finish the project I made for her
but have put it aside because of knitting for the grandkids.

I want you to know that I will be picking that project up immediately!!!

You are always in my heart & mind Linda..

Love you,
Lou Lee

Knitting Mania

So I will write quickly and only a little as I am knitting like
a crazy woman. Have to complete all projects to be mailed Thursday..this week
to Kansas!!!

No Dorothy isn't waiting but the grandchildren will be looking on
Christmas day.

It has been a beautiful experience to make this gifts for them all.
Can't really put anything up yet that I have knit.."No Peeking" rules
this time of the year.

I am blessed that my DGC appreciate what I do for them. It is all done with
much love...

I miss them all.....

APOLOGIES

Sorry for being gone so long but have been very busy knitting and volunteering locally.

Tomorrow I'll be packing boxes for 88 families in my local area so they can have a great Christmas meal.
Here in town they have done "The 29 Days of Christmas". Each day you were to donate an item from the list or $$$ if you could. They have almost filled "The Wards Store" front window.

One family who was here visiting for Thanksgiving (from another state) and bought a huge amount of goods that cannot be bought with Food Stamps. It really makes you feel great that others will help your community and not even leave their names.

So a shout out to all who give during this and any time of year to those less fortunate/

Peace,
Darla
